    Hi,
    The ideal weight for a vaddanam is 120-200 gms 22carat gold..there are 2 types of vaddanams
    one is the chain model and other one is belt model
    now a days chain model is fashion but it's breaking easily..
    Belt model is the best because as its plate wll be strong so chances of breaking is pretty less

    130 Grams of weight is enough for strong belt..then for one locket 30 grams of weight is enough...today i posted some more pics of vaddanam..chect it out..

    Very nice site, I was planning to buy a belt vaddanam.Gave me a very good idea of what to expect. One question, may be you can help. what is the standard width of the vaddanams for 130gram belt? 1.75 or 2 inches?

    the ideal weight is for vaddanam 120grms..u can get in 100 grams also..and about width it depends on ur waist size ..if your belt size big obviously width size is decreased..my suggestion is 150grams is the perfect weight for vaddanam.as it's plate will be strong and not brokable easily

    and also last year i visited manepally jewellers show room.. there are plenty of vaddanam designs which can be used as jada.

    Hi Anu, Thanks for the compliment and Astalaxmi Vaddanam minimum weight is 200 grams. But 250 grams weight is looks good and strong also. Usually astalaxmi vaddanam comes with nakshi work so comparability you need more weight than other nrmal vaddanams.

      The ideal weight is at least 100 grams, lesser weight is fine but there is a chance that it can break easily.

    hi nice collection I have seen a vaddanam in some good shop it is 130 grms planning to buy it ... i want to ask if there is compulsory for the three line gold balls at bottom like all the vaddanams in the blog ... i like that one so much and the shop is very reliable one but does it make any difference? ... it has removable chain also i want to remove it as it is out of fashion now and put them back again .. waiting for ur reply

    Ideal vaddanam weight is 225 gm which is minimum or else the belt will be lighter and it willfall towards the billa
